At Cerebrus Advies we are the bridge between cutting-edge research and practical application. We connect academic insights in animal welfare with real-world solutions, helping clients across the agri-food sector – including food businesses, NGOs, and policymakers – transform research into action. Our expert consultancy empowers clients to understand, implement, and leverage the value of research, driving progress and promoting best practices in animal welfare throughout the food supply chain.

Cerebrus Associates deploys our expertise in the behavioural sciences, focusing on consumer science and hot-topics such as mood, food, and cognitive performance. We help businesses navigate regulatory affairs, develop new products or consumer benefits, and refine strategy, providing the insights they need to innovate and thrive. Through our media agency, Cerebrus Digital, we amplify the impact of scientific research. Specialising in science communication, dissemination, and exploitation, we collaborate with learned societies and EU-based research consortia to maximise the reach and impact of research. Our digital media, content creation, and outreach strategies ensure that knowledge reaches the right audiences, making an enduring impact.

We are passionate professionals and scientists who have practical knowledge and experience in the Agri-food sector, especially in the fields of consumer science and animal welfare science. Having worked in both academic and commercial environments, we connect our industry partners with the most relevant and useful research and expertise for their business, and interpret academic knowledge into commercial language. In doing so, Cerebrus aims to achieve satisfying results for our partners, as well as creating a meaningful, lasting, impact for the betterment of the world.

Study to support the evaluation of the European Union strategy for the protection and welfare of animals 2012-2015

Cerebrus Associates has recently worked in partnership with ICF to conduct a study to support the evaluation of the European Union strategy for the protection and welfare of animals (2012-2015). Our work evaluated whether the Strategy contributed to its objectives in an effective and efficient way by considering these evaluation criteria in line with the Better Regulation Guidelines: relevance, coherence, effectiveness, efficiency, and EU added Value. The work was commissioned by the European Commission (Directorate General for Health and Food Safety, DG SANTE).
